Self Supported Coils

Self supported coils come in handy when your application has limited space and can’t accommodate a bobbin. It is also useful in getting the winding as close as possible to the metal in your circuit thereby giving you greater magnetic capabilities.
This type of coil would be wound on a mandrel and would be wound using a bondable magnet wire. The bonding of the magnet wire can be accomplished by heat in an oven or through induction as well as by using various solvents.
