Paper Section Coils

This method of manufacturing coils utilized paper insulation between the layers of magnet wire. The insulation is usually made up of Nomex or Kraft paper.

This method of manufacturing coils is particularly useful in applications where uncontrolled voltage and current spikes are present. The paper sections help to provide added insulation between the windings and offer that as an added barrier to dielectric turn to turn breakdown.

Additionally these coils can be varnished with various compounds to provide greater resistance to moisture in the application.
